Alfred Lamb is Guilty of Drunk Driving

Taxi driver, Alfred Lamb did not follow the golden rule of don’t drink and drive. He was found to have consumed more than twice the amount of alcohol than prescribed by law and as a consequence has been banned from driving for six months. Lamb was also fined five hundred dollars for the offense. He appeared before Traffic Court Magistrate, Stephanie Gillett today where he changed his initial not guilty plea to guilty for the charge of driving with alcohol concentration above the prescribed limit. In April, at his first appearance in Court, he pleaded guilty to another charge of driving without a valid driver’s license.  Magistrate Gillett made it clear to Lamb that while these are his first traffic offenses, driving with a high level of alcohol concentration is a very serious offense.  On April eighteenth 2016, he ran into a drain. Police approached Lamb who managed to stagger out of his vehicle and in so doing, he fell to the ground. His driver’s license was found to have expired days earlier on his birthday. In mitigation, Lamb told Magistrate Gillett that he was sorry for his actions and begged not to be sent to jail. Fortunately for him, the court was lenient on him. Lamb also has the opportunity to apply in writing to get back his driver’s license three months after today’s conviction, but he must pay his fines in full.
