BATSUB Will Discipline Officer Involved in Fatal Traffic Accident

There was a fatal accident involving an officer attached to the British Army Training and Support Unit Belize, BATSUB. Police visited the Dream Light Nightclub at mile one and half on the Phillip Goldson Highway on Sunday morning where they found a Ford F-one-fifty pickup truck, registered to the British Forces. Under the vehicle was the body of forty-three-year-old Jose Chinchilla Molina, a Salvadoran national of New Road, with head and body injuries. Investigations reveal that Chinchilla was socializing with three other persons at Sonia’s Diner on the compound when the pickup, driven by forty-one year old Sergeant Lee Humphreys, reversed at a high speed and hit Chinchilla and his friends.  Assistant Commissioner of Police told the media that the officer has been handed over to BATSUB and the vehicle was impounded.
