Romie Anthony Speaks About Agony as She Reveals Plans for Lawsuit

Romie Anthony

Anthony went to trial and told the court that she was on her way home when police arrived at her house and the bullets were found under her house after police searched it.  But Anthony said she had no knowledge of the bullets being there. She details the agony of the family’s ordeal.

Romie Anthony, Acquitted

“Most of all it’s given me strength having to deal with it on a daily basis….it was just too much, but you learn strength after going, waiting and the ups and downs of it. Having to come here every so often and then dealing with the fallout with my daughter—not my son, because he was spending time at the house because he was recovery from a surgery. But my daughter, at fourteen…but it’s been a real trial beside a trial because then there’s a lot of fallout. I have had to miss work so many times. My boss has asked on so many occasions when is it going to end. But it’s done; it’s over with. I’ve never been guilty.”

Sylvestre will take the case on the same basis as that of Allyson Major who was jailed some years ago after a gun among other items were found at the home of his common law wife, a teacher and he and others were charged and dragged off to court. In a ruling earlier this year, Major was awarded a sum of money for his troubles. Sylvester is hoping that the case will not be challenged by the government and that they will concede and compensate Anthony for her pain and suffering.
