Former P.M. Musa Would Have Taken Tougher Hand on Danny Mason Affair

William Mason

Former Prime Minister Said Musa spoke today on the William “Danny” Mason affair and he did not hesitate to say how he would have handled it. Mason is behind bars having been charged with the July beheading of Pastor Llewellyn Lucas whose head was found in the back of his vehicle as he partied in a vehicle in Belmopan.  Aside from the gruesomeness of the murder, Mason is known to have befriended and cajoled with a long list of cabinet ministers and U.D.P. operatives, including the Minister of Police who admittedly benefitted from Mason for the Belmopan Bandits. After the wrath of the people came down on government, John Saldivar was removed and replaced by Minister Godwin Hulse.  Musa says G.O.B. should have acted swifter and harsher.

Said Musa, Former Prime Minister

“The very serious allegations and indeed confessions made by several of the ministers in government today who received substantial monies from Mister Danny Mason, who in turn is now charged with murder for the beheading of Pastor Lucas. This is a scandal of unbelievable proportions and in the House, I asked the Prime Minister a simple question: Why doesn’t he appoint an independent international inquiry into this matter? How can you have the police do a proper job when the Minister at the time was very much involved, in bed, with Danny Mason? But the Prime Minister refused. I mean this is the situation that we are facing today.”

Said Musa

“Would you have had your cabinet ministers investigated or penalized?”

Said Musa

“No Prime Minister can investigate his own cabinet. But when the evidence is presently glaringly before you, you have to act. You have to fire the people them, man.”
