Anita Nembhard Unsure of Justice for Latest Victim
According to Nembhard, the death of her nephew is even more painful on Deandre’s father, who is currently living in Los Angeles, California and is unable to travel to Belize for his burial. An emotional Nembhard says that she questions whether the family will get any justice for the murder of the minor.
Anita Nembhard, Aunt of Murder Victim
“He’s taking this death so hard because he is all the way in L.A.; heard of his son being killed again…it is like bringing back old memories when my brother died in 2009. He took our brother to the hospital and it was all bloody. So now to hear that his son was killed so violently, I could just imagine what my brother is going through and now he cannot even come to put his first oldest child with the girl, with my sister-in-law, to rest. So I can’t even imagine what he is going through and I can’t even see him physically to hug him and to say how sorry I am.”

“Do you feel that the family will get justice for this murder?”
Anita Nembhard
“I don’t know because the young man that killed my brother is getting a retrial right now in the next session that is coming up….so I don’t even know if that will stand up in court because the girl who saw who killed him died. So most of the information that they will try to rely on is statements and you know how difficult that is in the system. I am prepared to see him walk; that’s what I am looking at recently and now my nephew got killed. I don’t want to say I don’t think there will be any justice, but it is hard to say.”
Such a shame when every system in your country is failing you. This is exactly why Belizeans seriously need to wake up. We keep giving power to people who care nothing about us. For years we rotate the same people, forgetting the mess they put us through before – hoping, thinking, and believing they would do better. INSANITY is doing the same thing, expecting different results. It won’t work people. We need to start setting standards, and first thing first is to get rid of the scum bags that are leading our country. Stop believing in these snakes that are all about themselves and care nothing about us. Choose leaders that are educated, compassionate, respectful, caring, and have integrity and visions. But, no, we keep choosing the wolves in sheep clothing, armed with black hearts and silver-tongues. When will we learn, people? When will we ever learn?
