“Old Beef” Leads to Chopping of 2 Brothers

Rural Eastern Division Police are also looking Jessie Mejia; he is wanted for the chopping of the Tejeda brothers over the weekend. According to police, Mejia and the siblings were in an altercation on Sunday morning and Mejia pulled out a machete and chopped the brothers on the hand and face. They were both rushed to the K.H.M.H. where they are currently in a stable condition. ACP Edward Broaster spoke with News Five this afternoon and provided details of the chopping.

“We had two individuals who received chop wounds over the weekend in Lord’s Bank where police responded and found one with his thumb chopped and Frank Tejeda with chop wounds over his eye. They were both rushed to the K.H.M.H. where they are undergoing treatment and are in a stable condition.”

“What is the investigation showing so far that took place?”

“Well the investigation is showing that one person who is wanted by the Rural Eastern Division; Jessie Mejia is wanted for questioning in that incident.”

“What happened? It was an altercation that led to the chopping?”

“Apparently they had an old beef which led to the altercation.”

“Sir is this believed to be something gang related?”
ACP Edward Broaster
“Like I said, it’s an old beef; it is not necessarily gang related.”

“Now you guys have not been able to detain Mister Mejia at this point in time. Is it believed that he is running from the police; that he is on the lam?”

“I’m sure he is hiding, but we will be able to find him pretty shortly.”
last year around this very same time in month that very same Jessy Mejia did the same thing to 3 persons myself included and up to date here I am awaiting court action! this is in insult to police work and the system as it hurts me to see those guys I know as well could have lost their life because of the court system dragging their feet on these case in which I had one date called and was adjourn until when ?? up to todays date a year later nothing and he is walking free!! this man Jessy attacked me my wife and my sister and left and came back with a machete and did the same as those guys… poor police work have 3 of us had a charge on him as simply wounding!!! and he walks everyday among of us and yet I await our case which never will come. only who feels it knows it … what a shame
