Pastor Wade Accuses Evangelical Leader of Being Compromised

Louis Wade

Pastor Rocke heads the Lake Independence Baptist Church and is a member of the Belize Association of Evangelical Churches, which suffered a big split around the time of the November general election. Rocke had reached accommodation with the National Evangelical Association of Belize which saw its majority of pastors tossed out. But today, Wade says Rocke and his boss Pastor Howell Longsworth may have been compromised all along.

Pastor Louis Wade, I Want My Country Back Movement

“We tried desperately to explain to the nation that Pastor Howell Longsworth expelled one hundred and fifty pastors out of the Evangelical Association. He kept six pastors only, and those pastors selected – not elected – Ashley Rocke to be the Senator. Those one hundred and fifty disenfranchised pastors received their letter on what I believe was a Barrow and Williams letterhead. It is very clear to NEAB which has three hundred pastors represented across the country, that the sole purpose of the destruction of the Association was to place a Senator who could move to the tune of the United Democratic Party.”
