The media also came under attack by the police. Colleagues were asked to leave, but stood their ground and then the police went into attack mode. The removal of the media from the gallery was an attempt to stop the recordings of the ugly scene unfolding.  During that mayhem, our colleague at 7 News, Director Jules Vasquez was manhandled and literally dragged out by members of the security forces for standing his ground as a journalist simply doing his job. Jules, you must obey me, not your conscience.

Go back to reporting sweet things about me.
This is why you live and I tolerate things like you.

He may be a big UDP with the family pedigree to back it up. But let’s not fool ourselves. There comes a point where the national interest and the party’s interest are sharply opposed. Kudos to Jules that he had the balls to grasp this and stand up for it. Perhaps it was more his journalist instincts than his patriotism. Who knows? But in the end, either trumped his loyalty to party. Bravo, well done.
