Gun-toting Fisherman Forces His Way into Home of Adolfo McKoy

Linsford Acosta

Another Belize City man is on remand at the Belize Central Prison, accused of forcing himself into the home of a fifty-year old man while armed with a firearm.  Linsford Acosta also pulled the trigger of a gun which snapped endangering the life of Adolfo McKoy of Antelope Street. Acosta, a fisherman of Waha Street was arraigned this afternoon before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza for aggravated burglary.  He pleaded not guilty and was remanded into custody until October twenty-first, 2016. McKoy reported to police that on Saturday he opened his front door for the daughter of a friend he knew and then he went back to his bed. It is then that Acosta gained entry into his house, grabbed him around his neck and pointed a gun to the right side of his head threatening his life.   According to McKoy that is when Acosta pulled the trigger of the gun; it snapped and in defence he attacked Acosta but he was hit on the side of his head.  Acosta fled and though McKoy caught up with him, he jumped on a motorcycle and rode off into the direction of Seagull Street.  Police later detained Acosta and charged him with aggravated burglary.
