Another of the event’s organizer, Edmond Staine says that it is their humble way of giving back to the Fabers Road community. Staine says that this year, they are doing it in memory of a volunteer that was killed in a traffic accident.

“It’s all about the students, you know, and this is the sixth year we are doing this initiative.  This year we are doing it in memory of Tyrese Carcamo, we lost him.  He was one of our volunteers on Fabers Road and we had an RTA just recently, I think it was this month, that took his life.  So we’re doing it in his memory this year.  This event has grown over the six years to where we started off just as a community based thing where everybody came out, Mrs. Mangar and everybody came out with food and Mr. Tony give us water and so on and we’ve grown now to where the business community has started to embrace us and support us in doing it and we have gotten more partners involved to where we’re trying to do a little health clinic for the kids also.  Doctor Alaine Gonzalez has committed to us that he was going to come and make sure all the kids get a little health checkup before we do the trimming and so on.  We have grown to where we do games and we were sponsored last year by San Pedro Belize Express so we provide a little food for them in the afternoon.  So if they are there during the lunch time, you know, we get food for them.  And we are sponsored again this year for that so we can do that.”
