Additional Charges of Kidnapping Brought Against William Mason

Accused murdered William “Danny” Mason left the Belize Central Prison momentarily today for another court appearance. Under heavy police guard, he was transported to the Belmopan Magistrate’s Court in a prison van.  When he was taken for arraignment before Magistrate Emmerita Anderson he was shielded as he entered the courtroom and was unrepresented. Mason is now facing two counts of kidnapping and two counts of unlawful imprisonment of Rosie and Lloyd Friesen which took place on May thirty-first 2016.  Two others charged in connection with this horrific saga were also arraigned. The Friesens had made a report of their kidnapping and left Belize for Canada out of fear for their lives; they returned to the country to make a formal statement and have once again headed back to Canada. The businessman had reportedly given three hundred thousand dollars to Mason to import corn but the grain was never delivered and things went sour with Mason when Friesen attempted to recover his money. After the kidnapping in May, there was no action against Mason until July fifteenth when he was found with the head of Pastor Llewellyn Lucas in his vehicle parked at a bar in Belmopan, where he was hanging out with the other accused men. The prosecutor for the new charges is Assistant Commissioner of Police Chester Williams. He said the police could not reach Mason’s attorney for the arraignment proceeding this morning and explains the new charges.

ACP Chester Williams, Prosecutor

“We had just arraigned Mister William Mason and the other persons who had been charged with him in respect of Mister Friessen and his wife which took place in May of this year.”

Now sir, was there any difficulties this morning in getting the arraignment done? These defendants had seen a number of difficulties.”

ACP Chester Williams

“There were no difficulties. As the prosecutor in the matter, I made sure I crossed my Ts and dot my I’s before I came to court and ensured that everything was in order. And so, everything just flowed this morning.”

“Sir, we noticed and we are hearing in court that Mister Ryan Rhaburn, who Belmopan police had unsuccessfully arraigned, was expected to be here today. Can you explain to us what happened?”

ACP Chester Williams

“Yes, Mister Ryan Rhaburn is a part of the charge in respect to this matter; his name is on the court book. And from what I have been briefed by the investigator is that Mister Panton, who represents Mister Rhaburn, had promised that he would have been here this morning with Mister Rhaburn for him to be arraigned. But unfortunately that did not occur so we will have to continue to look for Mister Rhaburn and have him arraigned for this matter.”

“Now sir is it regrettable that that particular situation unfolded; that he is now at large?”

ACP Chester Williams

“Yes it is. I believe that he should have been arraigned long ago. But because of difficulties that the prosecutor had in arraigning him, he was released by the magistrate. So I was expecting to have him here today so that we could go through that matter—myself and Mister Panton—in court before the magistrate and let the magistrate decide whether we have sufficient to arraign him.”

Good show, people need to look busy. Not a big fumble.

On the plea deal, does he walk if the GOB cabinet porno pictures disappear?

That should be released as a DVD box set to pay down debt.
