John Burke and Kareem Eagan Arraigned for Attempted Murder

Kareem Eagan

Two Belize City men are also on remand tonight at the Belize Central Prison for attempted murder. Thirty-two year old John Burke, a fisherman of Lavender Street, and thirty-four year old Kareem Eagan, a construction worker of Hulse Street, are charged with the offenses of attempted murder and dangerous harm upon Mario Zelaya.   The duo appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Frazer this morning; they were denied bail and remanded to the Belize Central Prison until September nineteenth, 2016.   The attempt on the life of Marion Zelaya occurred on August first, 2016, at the K.H.M.H. where Zelaya told police he was beaten badly by Eagan and Burke and rendered unconscious.  Zelaya claims he was at the K.H.M.H. visiting his wife who was hospitalized when he was attacked by the duo.
