A Pen Gun is Discovered in Carmelita

We don’t normally hear of the use of a pen gun in the committal of crimes in Belize, but around eleven o’clock today, Orange Walk police were called out to an area in Carmelita Village where they discovered the weapon in an open lot. Officer Commanding Orange Walk Police, Superintendent Selvyn Tillett told News Five more.

Supt. Selvyn Tillett, O.C., Orange Walk Police

“At about eleven a.m., due to the good relations the police are trying to build with the community here in orange Walk, a person from Carmelita informed us of such information as a result police visited an open lot in the Carmelita village where they found this pen gun. The informant told us that he suspected something was being hidden in that yard and as a result we found a pen gun.”

“Now does the police know as yet, I know that it is early in the investigation, but do police know as yet whether it has been used in the committal of a crime or something like that?”

Supt. Selvyn Tillett

“Not as yet, we only found it a few hours ago.”

Duane Moody

“What is the next step now?”

Supt. Selvyn Tillett

“Well next step, if there is any trace of any fingerprints that will be done.”
