Wizz is Remanded for Attempted Murder in San Pedro
Also in the Magistrate Court today, a construction worker from San Pedro Ambergris Caye, was arraigned for a mid-week shooting on the island. Twenty-three year old Luis Carter, also known as “Wizz”, a resident of the San Pablo area is facing charges of attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm and dangerous harm with a deadly weapon upon Dwayne Hyde. He was additionally charged with aggravated assault with a firearm upon Hyde’s common-law-wife, Kimberly Humes. In the wee hours of Wednesday, Hyde was shot to the abdomen, allegedly by one of three men who followed him to his house. According to a report given to police by Hyde’s common-law-wife, Humes says she heard a knock at her front door and when she opened it, Hyde told her that his life was under threat. He was allegedly being pursued by one of three men and in a subsequent struggle, he was shot to the abdomen. Hyde identified his attacker as Carter, who today appeared before Senior Magistrate, Sharon Fraser. The suspect has remanded to the Belize Central Prison until August thirty-first, 2016.
