Anderson Still Hospitalized after Shooting

Clifford Anderson

Also in the crime blotter…On Monday, we reported on the shooting of Clifford Anderson in an alley off Neal Pen Road Extension in Belize City. The twenty-six year old was attacked on Friday night reportedly from behind and shot to the lower back, damaging his internal organs. He was in a critical condition following the incident, but since then has undergone several rounds of surgeries at the K.H.M.H. and is well underway to recovery. Today, News Five spoke with his uncle, Mark Pollard, who says that Anderson is still bleeding internally and needs to do another surgery. Pollard says that the prognosis is good.

“So far we have very good news to report on. I just left and see him and so far he is up and talking. He’s showing very good signs of hundred percent recovery. He still need to do another surgery sometime between the course of today and tomorrow. We are looking for other blood donors to come in and donate about six pints of blood so that he could be fully recovered.”

“I know that they were saying that it was so bad that he wasn’t even talking when he came in after being shot. Talk to us about that. I know on Monday he had a second round of surgery in the afternoon.”

Mark Pollard

“Yes, on Monday he got a surgery and he recovered from the surgery, but he wasn’t talking. Yesterday afternoon he did a second surgery and based on the second surgery, now he is much recovered. But he still has internal bleeding and that is the bleeding that they are trying to stop.”
