Diane Haylock Off to Taiwan

Diane Haylock

News Five took the opportunity today to ask Haylock about her new appointment as the Belizean Ambassador to Taiwan.  Now Taiwan is a generous friend to Belize and yearly Belize is among a group of twenty-one countries that support its bid at the United Nations. Haylock was asked today if her work in culture had propelled her appointment before one of the key allies of Belize.

Diane Haylock, Newly Appointed, Belizean Ambassador to Taiwan

“Let me put it this way. I have been doing this for eight years and in the eight years we have reached out to Taiwan and they have supported us unreservedly. So I hope that my successor will have the same good luck with them. And I am certainly looking forward with great anticipation and excitement to taking on that new chapter in my life and witnesses firsthand more of the cultural offerings that Taiwan has to offer and being involved in all the other areas of diplomacy that the job will require.”

Duane Moody

“And of course exposing more of Belizean talents to the Taiwanese?”

Diane Haylock

“Oh naturally. I might be leaving this job in terms of NICH and culture, but for me, culture is near and dear to my heart so whatever I can do there in the area of culture, I will certainly do it.”

As to who will succeed Haylock as President of NICH, she told News Five that her replacement has not yet been identified.

with strings attached you get any post my friends but while other well prepared people are set aside to give way to the cronies. When will our party leaders understand that playing strings attached does not help our nation. Look at he medical posts people not well prepared in pace a ex-coast guard and down south a ex-military. We are going down just like Venezuela soon will be looting and crossing borders to fight to survive.
