S.S.B. C.E.O. Comes Under Fire from Within; Contract Won’t be Renewed

Richard Flowers

There is trouble brewing at the Social Security Board tonight, at the highest levels. First, there’s a memo indicating that C.E.O. Richard Flowers has opted to not renew his contract which expires on July twenty-ninth. According to the memo, circulated to staff, “the C.E.O. has been asked to remain on board during the transition and has agreed to stay until the end of January 2017.”  Today, News Five was able to confirm with multiple sources that managers are upset at the Board’s decision to keep Flowers in place for the next six months – so upset that in fact they held meetings today in which they presented the C.E.O. with a long laundry list of their concerns with his leadership. Those sources also tell us that Flowers has told managers that it is the board which would not renew his contract because they claim that there is a lack of confidence in him. We are reliably informed that managers will continue to agitate, and we’ll keep you updated on any developments in the S.S.B.
