Cop Charged for Shooting Incident

Urbie Alamilla

A police officer attached to the eastern division south tonight remains in custody after he discharged a firearm in a restaurant, wounding a patron at a Ladyville restaurant. According to Rural Eastern Division Commander, ACP Edward Broaster, on Saturday, at Green Jade Restaurant at the corner of Poinsetta Street and the Phillip Goldson Highway, an intoxicated Police Constable Urbie Alamilla intervened in a dispute between a couple. Thereafter, he reportedly pulled out a gun and fired a single shot. Bullet fragments ricocheted and injured Sharmane Bainton, who was inside the establishment along with ten other persons. The officer has since been detained pending charges of wounding and discharging a firearm in public.

“Upon arriving, police officers encountered one Ashley Haylock, twenty-four years, who reported having a conflict with one Mister Borland (Elvis Borland) where Urbie Alamilla separated then. He then reportedly exited the establishment and say when Alamilla took out a firearm and fired a single shot to the ground in the establishment where bullet fragments injured one female, Sharmane Bainton, to the arm. Alamilla then fled the scene and Alamilla yes is the same police officer who had fired shots about a week ago. And he has since been detained and is being charged for discharging firearm in public and causing wound to Miss Sharmane Bainton.”

Before you broadcast news you should find out the true story! There is more to this story but you all are just trying to charge this officer for wrong doing and you the media are pushing him to get charged! There is a big part missing. If he didn’t intervene someone would of been dead! Maybe you should really do your job and find out the truth, it’s sickening how you promote false stories. The fact that you all are saying that he has an alcohol problem and he was intoxicated is wrong! How do you know that?! From the gossip that’s going around? This man is a good officer. He is probably one of the only police officers in Belize that cares about things being done the right way. It’s clear to see that someone is trying to plot against him. Belizeans can never see other Belizeans doing good, always trying to find bad in the good. Your system is messed up! God will find justice, might not be today but it will happen sooner or later. SHAME on all the people who want to see a bad outcome for this officer.

He doesn’t seem like the appropriate person to be doing ‘intelligence work’ if he’ll be discharging a weapon inside an enclosed structure. He might be suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and he’s “asking” for help by “acting out” (unlike others that commit suicide)…ACP Broaster get him psychiatrically evaluated quick before he kills someone and claims it was an accident!

An officer doing intelligence work… his actions definitely were not intelligent. The man fired a shot in a public place endangering the lives of many. That to me is clear cut a dereliction of duty. Shame on Positive who cant see beyond its nose. The man is an embarrassment to the police. He fired a shot and left – really smart, I hope he is punished and made an example to other rouge police.
