More bogus bills surface in P.G.

Police over the weekend received two crisp blue notes from business proprietors in Punta Gorda, but the currency was not worth the paper it was printed on. That?s right: more funny money. On Friday night, a P.G businesswoman reported that she sold stouts to a man who paid with a hundred dollar bill. While the patron walked away with his beverage and over ninety dollars in change, it wasn?t until the next day that the owner noticed the counterfeit. Less than twenty-four hours later, another business establishment reported falling victim to con artists. Businessman Doyle Foreman reported that on Saturday morning he was checking his money when he discovered that one of his hundred dollar bills was not genuine. Both Punta Gorda hundred dollar notes bore the same serial number: C-B-4-4-8-6-0-5. This is the same number that was found on fourteen other funny hundred-dollar bills recovered by police in Belize City and Orange Walk. One person, a Belize City tire repairman, has been arrested and charged in connection with counterfeit money found in his possession during a search. The police are again asking the pubic to check their paper money carefully, and to take time to become familiar with how the notes ought to look.
