B.D.F. Operation Yields Marijuana Seizure in Patchakan
In addition to operations on the border, the B.D.F. also conducted a more localized exercise in which eighty-five pounds of processed and parceled marijuana was found on three persons in Patchakan. Acting Deputy Commander Louis Sutherland told News Five that based on information received on June eleventh; they intercepted Edilberto Ku, John Triminio and Gabriel Chan with the drugs.
Lt. Col. Louis Sutherland, Acting Deputy Commander, B.D.F.
“Over the weekend, on Saturday, a B.D.F. patrol encountered three persons—two from Patchakan and one from Xiabe—and we stopped and searched them and we discovered what was suspected to be marijuana. These male persons were taken to the Corozal Police Station where it was confirmed that the packages were indeed marijuana. There were a total of eighty-five pounds of marijuana which to our estimate, each package sells at eight-five dollars per pound. So if you do the math, it puts it just over seven thousand dollars as a street value.”

Lt. Col. Louis Sutherland
“This was a special operation based on intelligence.”
The men and the drugs, believed to have been brought across the northern border, were handed over to the Corozal Police Station.
