Team Needs Financial Assistance to Meet Competition Expenses
The team has put together a budget for expenses related to the tournament; however, it needs another one hundred thousand dollars to meet its overheads.
Supt. Andres Makin Sr., Manager, Police United F.C.
“We have set a budget, we have already put a budget in place because we’ve done our inquiries and so forth. So we’ve come up with a budget but so far we’re far from achieving what the budget is but at the same time I must also say or reveal that in the Champions League you’re also given a grant from the Champions League itself, so you’re looking at around a hundred thousand Belize [dollars] that will be granted to us likewise. But that in itself will not be able to take care of all the expenses that we’ll be undertaking, you know, so it goes a little beyond that and therefore we’re hoping that we could meet what they would be giving us, you know. So it will run us around two hundred thousand to play these games.”
Inspector Gamboa, PR Officer, Police United F.C.
“I feel good for reach like what Mister Raphael said for Police United to reach to this level at CONCACAF. And it is really big for the Belize Police Department and I know we will get a lot of support from the people out there and from wi police officers them. So I just want to say that they support wi and we will try our best to go out there and represent and try fi make Belize look good because after all dah one team now. Dah noh everybody got dehn own team now; dah one team and we represent now. So we just need everybody fi work with dehn and we wah put wi best and we will show them what the police can do.”
