ACP Williams Says Police Are Monitoring Gang Activity

Chester Williams

So what’s the reasoning behind the sudden spate of shootings? Apparently there is a revival of gang activity in a city which was surprisingly bloodless in 2015. Within the last month two notorious gang figures have been executed – George Street don Gerald “Shiny” Tillett and Keon “Gambis” Williams. Police say they know the players and are putting structures in place to minimize the gunplay.

“There is an issue with the crowd from Supal Street, Jane Usher and Faber’s Road who seemingly have now joined forces and are now attacking George Street. If you would see that it is a situation in which in both cases they actually came into the George Street area to do these shootings. We were monitoring them because we had received intelligence as to the different players involved. There is another high profile person who will be taken into custody today who we believe is one of the main players behind this recent spate of shootings and our investigation into it will continue. We will be looking at charges of Conspiracy and Abetment to Commit Murders in respect to that high profile individual.”

Going into the weekend police will be on alert due to the resurgence of gang activity in the city.
