…and claims Godfrey vexed with Gov’t

And while the aggrieved attorney expressed his anger, he also had some interesting things to say when asked about his encounter with Glenn Godfrey.

Stewart Krohn

“Mr. Elrington, you say you spoke to Mr. Godfrey this morning; now you are a very privileged man because many people in the media have been trying to get hold to Mr. Godfrey for a very long time now and he does not respond. You are also our opposition politician who no doubt must have many questions for Mr. Godfrey. In your meeting with him did you at all discussed the scandal of which he is the centre?”

Wilfred Elrington

“Yes, I have discussed the scandal of which he is the centre and I will tell you what Glenn said to me; a part of it. He did not say that it was in confidence, but basically he said that–I don?t know whether I should say all of it–but what he said really is that he is thinking of leaving the country because he cannot continue to operate in a country where the regulations are changed over night. In other words he himself is having problem with what the government is doing. This position is taken today and then a different position is taken tomorrow…”

Stewart Krohn

“This must be with regard to INTELCO?”

Wilfred Elrington

“He didn’t say specifically. We discussed the INTELCO thing and he seems to have thought that the government had let him down in relation to INTELCO. But he said specifically that he didn’t think that he could do business in Belize.”

News 5 has been seeking to speak with Glenn Godfrey for several weeks, but he has yet to return any of our phone calls.
