B.N.T.U. Rally is Fully Endorsed by Umbrella Organization

Marvin Mora

The Belize National Teachers Union, which falls under the umbrella organization, is coordinating a rally in Belize City on Friday.  The public demonstration, part of the recently launched Stand Up for Belize Campaign, seeks to draw national attention to the Belize/Guatemala issue.  It is also a platform for B.N.T.U. to demand government’s rescission of the Sarstoon Law.  According to Mora, the Trade Union Congress fully endorses the position taken by B.N.T.U.

Marvin Mora, President, N.T.U.C.B.

“Hundred percent in support with what the Belize National Teachers Union is doing.  As the president of the congress, I speak on behalf of everybody.  I believe that what the Belize National Teachers Union is doing is the right approach.  We believe that by informing the membership, we believe that by putting the issue out there and ventilating it enough so that everybody’s doubts are cleared, we believe that then our membership can take the right course of actions to address whatever situations they confront.  In this case we are dealing with that claim that we have over our head.  So definitely the B.N.T.U. has the full support of N.T.U.C.B. and we also believe that if others would want to join their forums or would want to join in their protest they are free to do so.”

  1. Moses Benguche says:

So, every group is opposing the Sarstoon claim by Guatemala. How should we defend ourselves and our country. I propose enacting a draft. All male between the ages of 17 and 50 should be enlisted and trained to defend our country. The BNTU will provide officer cadets. Training should be expedited. we should then solicit friendly countries for advisers and weapons. Set up camp at Sarstoon and Benque. Action speaks louder than words. Plenty ah we di mek nice but who ready fi ded fi defend wiself.
