Ombudsmen Will Continue Discussions on Critical Issues

Lionel Arzu

Ombudsman Arzu says that it is necessary to keep tabs on what his Guatemalan counterparts are up to and to keep the lines of communication open.

Lionel Arzu, Ombudsman

“I think it is important to keep liaison with the Guatemalan Ombudsman because it is his country and it’s his congress and it’s his government. And so as the meeting came to an end on Wednesday, we agreed that we will keep in touch. There is a regional meeting in this country later this month and he hopes to attend. It won’t be the main topic of the meeting, but I still want to believe that on a side note, some level of discussion will continue as it relates to that.”

The regional conference of ombudsmen will be held later this month from May twenty-fifth to the twenty-seventh at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza.
