Nissan Arana Says Mother’s Condition Has Improved

Julia Arana is the mother of well-known cyclist Nissan Arana.  News Five spoke with him by phone this evening and he told us that he does not know much about the incident since he was not present at the time of the accident, nor has he had an opportunity to speak with Mai or Orange Walk police.

“I wasn’t there so I can’t tell yo exactly what happened. When I get the call the Friday night dah mi wah big shock for me. That’s the problem right there; I don’t know weh happen, how ih happen or nothing cause I wasn’t there.”

“What have you been told in terms of either the individual who knocked down your mom? What did he tell you or what have you gathered sofar?”


Nissan Arana

“Well so far I noh have no personal talk with ahn yet, up to now, so I can’t tell yo what happen. So far, I noh talk to ahn personally yet to see what agreement we could do.”


Isani Cayetano

“What is your mom’s condition? What is her immediate state?”


Nissan Arana

“Well right now ih noh deh a hundred fu say because ih still…well dehn take the scan today. Ih still deh with the swelling, but the critical condition, well it done ease off.”


Isani Cayetano

“And what are police telling you?”


Nissan Arana

“Well so far I noh get no talking with police. I noh get no talking with police up to now.”
