Vehicle Bursts into Flames After Collision on Sunday

A motorist is tonight lucky to be alive, following a near fatal road traffic accident along the Phillip Goldson Highway on Sunday morning.  The white Chevy Tahoe, driven at the time by Edward Ellis, was completely engulfed in flames by the time Ladyville police were able to respond to the scene.  Fortunately, he was able to escape the burning wreck.  According to Ellis, who declined an interview with News Five earlier today, he was traveling along the thoroughfare when he was sideswiped by a vehicle at his rear.  The impact caused the full-size sports utility vehicle to overturn several times before coming to rest and bursting into flames.  The Chevy Tahoe was removed from the shoulder of the highway this morning.  ACP Edward Broaster provided brief information on the incident.

“On March twentieth, at about 5:11 a.m., one Edward Ellis was driving towards Ladyville when he reported that he was allegedly clipped by a vehicle from behind and flipped twice between miles five and six on the Phillip Goldson Highway.  He was driving a 1997 white in color Chevy Tahoe which engulfed in flames and was completely burned.”
