GSU Denies Involvement in Pursuit

Mark Flowers

According to Commander Mark Flowers, the Gang Suppression Unit did not engage the suspects being pursued.  In fact, they only came to the aid of the responding officers before carrying on with their assignment.  Young, on the other hand, also reiterates that the GSU were not part of the shooting.

On the Phone: Mark Flowers, Commander, Gang Suppression Unit

“I don’t know of the shooting, I don’t know.  I know that on Saturday the Gand Suppression Unit members were asked to go… on Mahogany Street when they happened upon a traffic accident.  They rendered assistance to the police and as I just informed now, I didn’t know that there was a shooting.”

Isani Cayetano

“Okay.  In terms of the response of your men to that particular scene, what was the report that was relayed to you following that incident?”

On the Phone: Mark Flowers

“I was informed that police were dealing with a traffic accident and that the GSU were in the area which was what I now know to be true.  They were on patrol and they happened upon the police dealing with that incident.  They stopped, they rendered assistance and they went about their usual duties.”
