Still No Attempted Murder Charge for Adolphus Palacio

Insp. Rochelle Chan

Two weeks ago there was a sensational incident in which two Canadian tourists were robbed at gunpoint just after they checked into the Tropical Education Centre on the George Price Highway. Shortly after, those robbers shot a Good Samaritan, Jorge Lopez, who saw them fleeing the scene but thought they needed help. Adolphus Palacio, the man who allegedly shot Lopez, was chopped on the arm by Lopez and picked up by Police when he checked into the KHMH for medical attention. Palacio has been identified by the tourists and arraigned for those offences, but he’s still awaiting charges for the attack on Lopez.

Insp. Rochelle Chan, Commander, Hattieville Formation

“In relation to the arrest made in regard to Mr. Adolphus Palacio, we conducted another ID Parade in regards to the other incident – remember there were two incidents the same day, and we expect to lay charges on Mr. Palacio. In relation to the next person or suspect we have not yet established an identity, and we’re still investigating.”

“I would assume that means that Mr. Palacio is not cooperating with the Police at this point?”

Insp. Rochelle Chan

“That is right.”

Whenever it does happen, the charge laid against Adolphus Palacio will be Attempted Murder.
