Jack Charles Fires Back at Bureau of Standards

The Bureau of Standards responded this week to rice importer Jack Charles who announced that he has tested three types of local rice at a U.S. laboratory and results show it to be contaminated with aflatoxins, which can cause cancer. The Bureau quickly said not so and explained that in fact the aflatoxins are well within those limits safe for consumption. It concluded that the test results provided by Charles shows that none of the rice samples analysed contain detectable levels of aflatoxins and as a result do not pose any threat to human health. But Charles isn’t going away and today, he fired back again with another release in response to the Bureau saying that the agency needs to be seriously concerned about the occurrence of aflatoxins as contaminants in rice. The release says, “even if the levels are low, each Belizean consumes approximately ten pounds of rice per month, so the chronic exposure and bioaccumulation of the toxin at the end of the year can be harmful. Chronic effects (repeated exposure to low or even very low doses) are the most worrying, because of eating habits and the lasting effect of the toxins.” And for good measure, the importer says that if anyone would like to send any produce samples for testing, he would be willing to cover the costs.

Who is he to call “foul” when we have no idea what he is trying to bring in?

Poor Charles!! Much empathy for him. But he must know he is not Mennonite, nor Lebanese Arab, nor any of the ruling Caucasoid tribes. He must know how to align himself. Remember the Black man no like Black man to advance.
