No Timeline in Long Forgotten Cinderella Plaza Renovation

Darrell Bradley

Of the many infrastructure projects in the City that have become a nuisance to residents is the flood mitigation project which is only partially completed in the area of Cinderella Plaza. It has caused no end of headaches for commuters who traverse that main artery of the City. Frankly, it is also an eyesore for which there is no specific timeline for conclusion. Here is what the mayor says about that particular issue.

Darrell Bradley, Belize City Mayor

“Well it is not completed its going to be completed when the street is finished in terms of the section of Baymen Avenue and in terms of Cinderella plaza. We have a councilor who sits on the steering committee for the Flood Mitigation Project; he is involved in the discussions and so forth. I am confident and we are pushing them in relation to completing that as soon as possible because it is a major woe for residents. The Cinderella Plaza is a major access way and we need that area to be repaired and fixed. I can’t speak in relation to the specific timeline but I can say that it is going to be done.”

Mayor Bradley also told the media today that the council will be looking into the concerns of public transportation in the downtown area.
