Attorney Dickie Bradley Says Charge Will Never Stand Up in Court

Dickie Bradley

As Bradley stated, Justice Gonzalez at one point in court clearly contemplated holding all Park’s assets in-country as bail. Just before granting bail, he was handed documents which represented a value of one point five million dollars. Perhaps Park’s willingness to take those extraordinary steps to secure freedom convinced Justice Gonzalez that she had no interest in fleeing the country. Attorney Dickie Bradley insists that the wealthy businesswoman doesn’t, and instead wants a speedy trial to clear her good name. He expressed openly in Court, and outside to the media, that the charge against his client is flimsy and will never stand up in Court.

Dickie Bradley, Attorney for Huong Park

“The evidence presented in Court by the investigating officer Sergeant Gomez is that the reason Ms. Huong Park was charged for Abetment to commit a crime which is to Pervert the Course of Justice is based, according to the sworn affidavit, is based on another Police Officer claiming that in February of last year he was requested to come to a private residence. He went there where another person who has been charged offered him one thousand five hundred dollars which he took to plant weapons and ammunition in Mr. Michael Modiri’s vehicle. His evidence to the Court is that Ms. Huong Park was at that residence at the time. Ms. Park did not tell him yes…do it! Ms. Park did not take part in any discussion. She was present. Mr. Abadi got some money from Ms. Park and came and paid him and he must have been wondering well this lady deh hear everything and the person said she knows about it or something like that. That is the sum total of charging a major investor in the country and then come to Court to tell the Supreme Court keep her in jail until trial. There is no other evidence. There is nothing.”

As a condition of her bail Park will have to surrender her passport to the Court Marshall. But in a show of leniency Justice Gonzalez has stated that she can retrieve her passport whenever she has to travel for business and hand it in when she returns to the country.
