Dangriga Commuter Claims She Was Raped After Getting Off Bus

There is one more allegation of rape to add to the growing list. It reportedly occurred in the south over the weekend.  A resident of San Ignacio, Cayo District, claims that soon after she got off a bus last Saturday at about twelve-thirty at the junction near Dangriga, she was accosted by a man carrying a machete. The man reportedly dragged the forty-eight year old female to a nearby citrus orchard where she was assaulted and raped. But her ordeal did not end there, because he also robbed her of three hundred and seventy-two dollars she was carrying on her. The assailant was also left her incommunicado because the perp made off with her cell phone. She was able, however, to make it to the Dangriga police station where she filed a report.
