Cost of Diesel Goes Down at the Pump

The government announced today that it will be passing on to consumers some savings on diesel.  And we say some because on December twenty-eighth, the price of diesel shot up by eighty-one cents per gallon and it is now going down forty-two cents. It means that there is a thirty-nine cents difference from where the price actually was nine days ago. According to a G.O.B. release today, as a result of lower Cost Insurance Freight prices on a recent shipment, prices for diesel went down effective Monday at midnight. In the city, diesel is now retailing at service stations for six dollars and fifty-eight cents per gallon. But the government release also says that it will pass on all future reductions in the CIF Prices of fuel products directly to the prices at the pump, and that it intends to maintain the current level of duties and taxes without change on these products.
