Where is David Nanes Schnitzer? He’s a No-show at San Pedro Precinct

David Nanes Schnitzer

Where is international fugitive, David Nanes Schnitzer tonight? He is wanted in his home country of Mexico for his role in defrauding investors of millions of dollars, as much as much as forty-two million U.S. dollars. On Friday, he was granted bail by Justice Denis Hanomansingh when he appeared in Supreme Court.  Nanes was being held in pretrial detention for possession of a fake driver’s license, and despite objections by the office of the D.P.P. because he is deemed a flight risk, he was released on a mere ten thousand dollar bond under specific conditions that he must report to San Pedro police on Mondays and Fridays, surrender his travel documents and not interfere with witnesses.  Well, today should have been his first check-in for his bail condition and perhaps not surprisingly, he was a no-show at the police station in San Pedro.  And it is likely that the millionaire businessman turned international fugitive has skipped the country.  What we can confirm is that up until six o’clock this evening, Nanes was expected to sign-in as required under the terms of his release, but he did not.  As we’ve reported, Nanes was busted in San Pedro several weeks ago in ownership of a falsified driver’s license issued by the San Pedro authorities with false information supplied by Nanes. It would further come to light that he was also in possession of an array of forged documents under the assumed name David Banes including a Belize passport illegally obtained in 2012.  Using the Banes alias, he was also able to obtain a Social Security Card, a Belize Bank Debit Card, Boat Master’s License, as well as a pair of driver’s licenses for Belize City and San Pedro.  Those documents were all fraudulently obtained and, like his Belizean passport, are expected to be revoked.  While it is suspected that Nanes may have absconded, it is also believed that his assets in Belize are filed under his wife’s name.  Those properties, spread across the country, amount to an estimated ten million dollars.  Nanes is wanted in Mexico for swindling upwards of forty million dollars from investors, as part of a Ponzi scheme orchestrated by convicted financier Allen Stanford who is already in jail in the U.S. of the scheme which overall defrauded investors of seven billion U.S. dollars.  On Friday, Nanes’ Belizean passport was cancelled by Minister of Immigration Godwin Hulse.  A statement affixed to the gazette entry reads, “I do declare that the above mentioned David M. Banes shall hereby cease to be a citizen of Belize.”

The judge who gave him bail is suppose to be accountable if he don’t show up. How dumb can a judge be being that he is a high wanted person internationally. Mexicans and others interested in him must be scratching their head thinking “WTF was this judge thinking” it’s like arresting el chapo and giving him bail while mexico and uncle sam are digging the earth to find him, mein what a shame is our law authorities .

Total corruption again combined with ineptitude, stupidity, and just plain damn, “mi no care” attitude! Which politician was paid off for this one? The passport crooks (Penner or whoever) have already gotten their money. Just another example of how screwed up GOB is!

I mentioned this would happen from last week. Not because I’m any soothsayer, but that it was just plain common sense. Anyone with money can get away with anything, even buying off court officials. People who got their money stolen from this criminal should go and raid all his belongings and grab what they can. he is lucky he is escaping mexican justice so far.
