Theft Charges Against Former Brodies Employee Struck Out

Alfonso Marin

A former employee of James Brodies, who worked as a cashier at the supermarket, is also free tonight after the company requested no further court action in a theft charge lodged against him at the Belize City Magistrate’s Court. Twenty-two year old Alfonso Marin was charged back in July of this year with five counts of theft. This morning, before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser, Inspector Egbert Castillo informed the court that they would offer no evidence in the case against Marin. With that said, the Senior Magistrate struck out the charges against Marin. He was accused of stealing a number of items from the supermarket including liquor, clothes and underwear and vitamins as well as items for personal hygiene.
