Sixteen-year-old Shot and Killed in Roaring Creek

In Roaring Creek…a sixteen year old minor of Young Bank Road was callously killed in front of his parents and siblings just before eight o’clock on Friday night. It is a most horrific murder that has left the entire Choc family traumatized. As the family of Ivan Choc was having dinner, someone came knocking at their front door. Thirty-five year old Eluterio Choc says that two men dressed in black with T-shirts over their faces and brandishing firearms entered the home and targeted his son. He recounts the desperate plea by Ivan to save his life, but one of the gunmen proceeded to shoot him twice—once to the right arm and then to the head—with a twelve gauge shotgun.

“My wife heard walking outside in the water….first she heard somebody like one minute gone behind the house and another like one minute later, another one come see. So my wife tell me are you not going to go outside and see if something is happening. And as we come outside, the guys were already on the step. I had a machete in my hand should in case something. We opened the door, me and my wife and we see dah who. They dressed in black T-shirt tie upon their head and you could see their eyebrow and all of half of their nose. Everything we see them clearly.”

“Around eight p.m., police received information of a shooting incident. As a result, they visited the residence of Mister Eluterio Choc, who reside in the Young Bank Road, Roaring Creek Village. On arrival there, they saw the motionless body of his son, Ivan Choc, who is a minor, who appeared to have two gunshot wounds—one on his right hand and the next gunshot wound on the right side of his face.”

“The person who shot my son was there standing for five or six minutes in front of my son. Maybe he think double mind before he killed my son. And he never wanted to kill maybe my son because my son was begging him. My son draw himself underneath the table and he say, “Please, please, please don’t kill me? Please don’t kill me?” And the guy looked at him. He was so sorry when he done this terrible stuff to my son. And from there, he just crack the pump twelve and ih say bam and he ketch this first meat on my hand. Ih see that ih neva ketch my son good and my son beg him again. “Please bwai? Please, please? I beg yo don’t kill me bwai? Don’t kill me?” And the bwai crank up the pump twelve again and bah; ih ketch my son on his head and his brains. And from there, the next one said, with the nine [millimeter] caliber said we kill everybody, but lone gun sign. And the next person who kill my son say “No, it’s just him.” So they gone and when they heard that my son never dead instantly because he was still breathing; breathing for like five-ten minutes before the police arrive.”
