Gapi Says Monchi Outspent Him in Orange Walk North

Gaspar Vega

As the U.D.P.’s mover and shaker in the north, Gaspar Vega actually gained ground, holding on to four seats held by the party and adding one more. But in his own division, he lost significant ground to the P.U.P.’s Ramon Cervantes Junior.  While Vega is the second most powerful man in the U.D.P., today he claimed that he was outspent by Cervantes, which accounts for any ground he lost.

Gaspar Vega, Deputy Prime Minister

“I really did not expect or I did not believe that the guy running against me was going to be spending that much money, to be sincere. He got me by surprise on the day of elections when I started seeing the movements. Because otherwise he wouldn’t have gotten that close, plus I invested a lot of time campaigning with my other colleagues, but that I would still do no matter what. But I think the main surprise was the money that he invested.”

“Would you say that he outmuscled you in terms of money on the ground?”

Gaspar Vega

“He outspent me. He did not outmuscle me. Because had I wanted to spend I could have done so.”

“Sir what’s next for you in that area/ Do you still consider it a stronghold?”

Gaspar Vega

“Of course! I think it shows I’m extremely strong. Because like I tell everyone I’m probably one of the very few representatives and candidates who do not pay for campaigners, I do not buy votes. I work every day for the four years, every term. And that is my strength.”

One of the few who does not pay for votes? What a gimmick statement. He was paying for votes, not from his hand the payments were made but by his servants. Big cash was rolling out from DPM Vega. Shameless.

Fools swallow the last paragraph of the Interview

I am a big U.D.P supporter. I have a message for Mr. Vega. You should be careful on what you say. It will hunt you in the longer run. This high light should set things straight. (Money isn’t everything. Winning the trust of the people is. That is the most powerful way to ensure victory in the future.)
