Suspect charged in Fisher shooting

Story PictureTwenty-five year old Marlon Fisher remains in a critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Fisher, who is unable to breathe on his own due to gunshot wounds to the chest and lower back, is being assisted with a ventilator machine. As the Fisher family hopes for the best, Belize City police have arrested the person they believe is the triggerman. Twenty-four year old Sheldon Tillett of a George Street address has been charged with Attempted Murder and Use of Deadly Means of Harm. On January first, Fisher was released from Hattieville Prison after awaiting trial for Attempted Murder. Police say they do not know if the two crimes are related and would not comment on a motive.

Meanwhile KHMH officials tell News Five that Stanley Coleman, who was shot in the neck on Thursday afternoon, remains on a ventilator machine and a recent examination reveals that his injury may have left him paralyzed. However, it will be another two days before they will be able to establish if there is any chance for a full recovery. So far one person has been detained in connection with the incident.
