Are U.D.P. Candidates Being Fuelled By Petrocaribe?

Dean Barrow

We note that all that’s being said on all these issues is subject to a decision which will be made on November fourth. Which brings us to Petrocaribe. Will those many millions at the U.D.P.’s disposal be used to affect the result at the polls? According to Prime Minister Dean Barrow….while there is no direct handout of Petrocaribe monies to U.D.P. candidates, if those candidates benefit from projects paid by Petrocaribe then it’s all good.

Prime Minister Dean Barrow

“There is no Petrocaribe money being used to provide any kind of campaign funding for the candidates of the United Democratic Party. That would be improper and not even possible given that we have government officials such as the Financial Secretary and so many others to ensure that that don’t take place. To the extent that Petrocaribe money does fund projects in constituencies; that’s as it should be and if that helps the government that in fact negotiated the unlocking of the Petrocaribe funds; the restart of the program.”

People don’t be fooled by any party telling you that they will upgrade your area, because this is money another country gave them for development or they borrowed money so tax payers are the ones that will repay it. Any work done is thier responsibility this is why you elected them.
