Sand Hill Resident Shot after Altercation over Bicycle

The spate of violence continued this morning.  In Sand Hill, a resident Brian Davis was shot near his house following a misunderstanding with a group of men over a bicycle and some cash. The Rural Rapid Response Team of the Police Department was activated immediately after the shooting and has since captured one of four suspects.

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster, Regional Commander, Eastern Division Rural

“Early this morning, after one a.m., there was a shooting in Sand Hill where one Brian Davis was shot at, at his home by four male persons. Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster

“The investigation is showing that there was a conflict over a bicycle and some money.”

Duane Moody

“That occurred on Sunday or the same morning?”

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster

“That occurred on Sunday.”

Duane Moody

“These suspects are also from the village?”

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster

“Yes, the four suspects are from Sand Hill Village. We know their identities and we are looking for the other three.”

Duane Moody

“Has any weapon been recovered?”

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster

“No weapon has been recovered at this time. The incidents that occur in the rural, like I’ve said before; if you see something, you say something, you stop something. The incident that occurred yesterday, if was reported would have been dealt with and this matter may have been averted.  Hence the reason why we are encouraging the public and the citizens, when they see something, they say something and they might just stop something.”

Police are looking for three other suspects.
