Who’s Benefiting from Fortis Settlement? Let’s Ask Julius Espat

Julius Espat

According to the member for Cayo South Julius Espat, what is happening today with Fortis is all part of, in his words, a premeditated and wicked plan in which the only ones to benefit are the PM’s circle of family and friends.

Julius Espat, Area Rep., Cayo South

“The Prime Minister installed his law partner Rodwell Williams as the chairman of BEL number one, the Prime Minister then installed his son Anwar Barrow as chairman of BTL both receiving exorbitant and unimaginable dollars for their services. The PM then appointed his wife Lois Young Barrow, his brother Denys Barrow and his niece Naima Barrow as the attorneys for both cases making sure that they did everything possible to drag on this case all the way to the CCJ therefore, justifying the large amount of legal fees that they are collecting. Mr. Speaker and the PM can correct me if I am wrong, the legal fees are in an excess of tens of millions of dollars and if he wants to refute it then tell us how much it is. I know it is over ten million and that is just the start of it Mr. Speaker. And these are not accusations they are cold hard facts. Mr. Speaker and now you wonder why is it that the Prime Minister does not want the rule of law to be done in this country; to be followed in this country. Why is it that he refuses to have any accountability in his decisions, why is it that transparency is just a word that he utilizes? I believe that it is because of the multi-million benefits that his family gets, that’s one of the reasons.”
