Former K.H.M.H. C.E.O. says Dr. Fabro is lying…

Story PictureThe commission of inquiry will have plenty to look at since it appears that there is no end to the stench coming from the K.H.M.H. We reported on Thursday on the Cecil Knowles allegations which included fish being bought all the way from Orange Walk for the K.H.M.H. And now another man in the know, the former C.E.O. of the K.H.M.H., Dr. Alvaro Rosado, has come forward to support Knowles. In a no holds barred interview Rosado told News Five that Fabro is not speaking the truth.

Dr. Alvaro Rosado, Former C.E.O., K.H.M.H.
“Of late, the Board members and other representatives from the hospital have been making disparaging comments about the former administration, suggesting that things were going wrong when the former administration, meaning me and my team were there. Our opening balance for February the first 2008, cash in the bank was $971,368.42 that’s almost a million dollars. And I have to come out because it is unfair what he’s trying to do to Mr. Knowles because everything Mr. Knowles said was true. The lies are coming from Dr. Fabro. If he is denying that he told Knowles that.”

“You know that he told Mr. Knowles this? You were there?”

Dr. Alvaro Rosado
“I was not there but I don’t think anybody, least of all, Mr. Knowles is crazy enough to cook up the stories on the spot. What happened was Dr. Fabro had his first—there wasn’t even a board meeting. There was a gathering of the old Board and the new Board, just to hand over formally, which I had requested because they were really acting in a funny way when the new government got in. But they had this meeting just to handover basically from the old Board to the new Board and that was a Friday evening. Immediately after the meeting Dr. Fabro went to Mr. Knowles. I saw him go into Mr. Knowles office, I went to my office. Mr. Knowles came to me the same evening and seh “boss I know this is strange but I’m informing you, the Chairman has just asked me for a list of all the suppliers that we buy things from”. I said well this is irregular because he should be coming to me but give it to him. I will assume that it is ignorance, he doesn’t know better so follow his instructions and when the Board meets for the first time I will try to clear this up. That was the Friday evening. The Monday morning Mr. Knowles came to me, he said “boss this thing is getting worse because he has now instructed me to stop buying meats from Smiling Meats”. I said Mr. Knowles, alright we’ll follow his instructions and I’ll clear up this thing at the first Board Meeting. So we stopped buying from Smiling but we had to buy meat for that week. So I placed the order with Maurudo’s Meats, better known as Jagan on the Northern Highway. We placed the order for the meat there. Then Mr. Knowles came to me the Tuesday morning and I could recall the day, the Tuesday morning because it was Cabinet meeting that morning and he came and said “the chairman has now instructed me to buy everything name meat fish or chicken from Gillett’s Meat Shop in Orange Walk”. And I told him this is crazy but anyhow, follow his instructions. The matter was discussed in Cabinet because two ministers called me and said “what’s going on?” I said you have heard correct. This is what is happening. So the matter was discussed in Cabinet, so the Prime Minister and the other Ministers who were there were aware of this kinda thing happening from day one. I had been trying to talk to Dr. Fabro. I ask him for a phone number or an e-mail and his response to me was “I don’t have a phone number, I don’t have an e-mail. If you want to contact me, write me through the post office at my address in Orange Walk”. So he kept dealing directly specifically with Knowles. He wasn’t dealing with the other directors, apparently he was more interested in the finances, the financial aspect of K.H.M.H.”

Rosado says he left behind close to a million dollars in the bank.
