Prakash Project Arrives in Belize

Jaen Nieto

Prakash Project…it’s a music event, but not the regular concert – that’s being held on the grounds of the Om Shanti Yoga Center on Princess Margaret Drive Belize City. The lineup features two artists, Leonardo Nieto Joly and Federico Diaz, who have travelled all over the world. News Five spoke with the principals of the project today and they explained the purpose.

Jaen Nieto, Therapist & Yoga Instructor

“The project was borne or has the concept of beyond the music with the subject of light. So to bring this light that everybody has inside that we are all searching and want peace and such. So, at the end of the concert, people can expect to feel peace and quietness in their space.”

Andrea Polanco

“So people can bring their pillows and blankets…talk to us about that?”

Jaen Nieto

“Yes! The concert, the weather seems good so we are going to have it under this flamboyant tree. They can bring their pillows and blankets and water, no alcohol and something to snack on and to feel comfortable and to enjoy the concert.”

Federico Diaz

Federico Diaz, Musician (Translated)

“What can people expect; it’s not really something to be expected because it’s influences from sitar and guitar with many influences from different parts where these two musicians have travelled. So, Indian influenced, classical, Afro-Latin folklore, so it’s a big mix. So, they have their composition but it’s a moment. People will take out whatever the moment gives.”

It kicks off at seven-thirty tonight and ends around 9.To get in the concert under the stars, it will cost you forty bucks at the gate.
