Sport Stats with James Adderley

Good evening, I’m James Adderley and this is Sports Monday.

The Smart 13 and Under Football Tournament presented the semi-final round Saturday at the MCC Grounds. In a closely contested matchup between Collet Strikers and Young Warriors, the decision had to go to penalty kicks after they rallied to a scoreless stalemate. It was this conversion that gave young warriors the 3-2 big win and they’re off to the finals which is set for this Saturday. We must say the numbers on the back of their jerseys did not correspond with the roster presented to the game officials. In the meantime, we can only hope that in the opener the same situation did not exist

It’s the Brown Bombers against Ladyville Jaguars where we find #7 Eshaq King with this right foot launch looking to give the Bombers the lead. In the 2nd half play, Eshag King sets up Eldon Byrd for the full volley, but the ball bounces of the crossbar. 316 Johean Gillette then hooks up with # 10 Jovaunn Ramos whose header also crashes against the crossbar. Folks, it’s all Brown Bombers—Johean Gillette deals to Eldon Byrd who uses 2 touches to settle the ball and this time, the right foot shot tangles inside the net for the 1-zip Brown Bombers win. Thus the finals comes up this Saturday – Brown Bombers tackle Young Warriors for the Smart 2015 title. We should have footage and we hope for a little help in accuracy of reporting.

Folks, it certainly was a good day at the desk today. We covered Friday night’s Interoffice Basketball Game between Infotel and Belize bank Bulldogs in Interoffice play at Bird’s Isle. Please note 2 players for Infotel in this picture have no numbers. Secondly, we could not get the proper statistics from the Interoffice League. Nevertheless we do know Infotel edged the Belize Bank Bulldogs 51 to 48 in what was an exciting and entertaining match-up. To the league, we say what you put in is what you get out.
