Darrell Bradley’s Campaign Trail in Caribbean Shores

Darrell Bradley

This coming Sunday, the United Democratic Party will be having a convention in Caribbean Shores where Belize City Mayor, Darrell Bradley will be officially endorsed as the standard bearer for the constituency. Now, it took some time for the mayor to secure his candidacy in the division and it only happened after the sitting area rep decided to step aside and not seek re-election. Bradley is known for the street works he has accomplished in the City, but when the media caught up with him today at an event, a number of questions were asked of him, including his campaign in the Shores.

“We are going out campaigning…most evenings we go out of course it is very busy juggling the city and then also campaigning and then also dealing with my law business and then also dealing with personal and family commitments. But we are very aggressive in the area and I just want to ensure that I am an effective leader for the residents of Caribbean Shores. It’s been a good opportunity meeting with people, sitting with them at their homes and talking to them about some of the concerns that they have in terms of wanting hat kind of leader that is a person of character and integrity and action oriented. And so we are very spirited that the convention is on Sunday and the work continues beyond that day and the campaign is a daily, very strenuous thing. We are putting together a specific plan for Caribbean Shores that addressed security and infrastructure and people in that area have likewise addressed property tax issues. So we get a mix of concerns. One of the things that I am very appreciative of people in the area is that you see a genuine desire from residents to want to talk about issues; we don’t get that much pressure in relation to people wanting things from a representative. They really just want a desire to see their community better and they recognize that that will come when you have effective leadership in the area.”
