Russell Hyde and Other Suspects in Roaring Creek Murders Released!

It’s been several days now since the sensational murders of Roaring Creek residents Steven Hyde and Edilberto Madrid, and no one has been charged. Both men, an associate and a cousin of Russell Hyde, respectively, were found badly mutilated—limbs and head severed—in the Young Gial Bank Road. Madrid’s body was found in the Belize River near Hyde’s farm, and Steven Hyde’s body was actually found in a shallow grave on Hyde’s farm.  Well, up to Thursday Belmopan Police had three persons in custody. The men, including Russell Hyde, were being questioned in connection with the two gruesome murders. And as of last week, it sounded as though it was just a matter of days for charges to be laid. Well, it didn’t happen so fast. It didn’t happen at all…at least not just yet. Today, when we spoke to police, we learnt that all three are no longer detained, including Hyde who was released over the weekend. According to senior police officials, they’re awaiting DNA testing that will assist them with these two murders.
