Shadir Marin Charged For Aggravated Assault on DJ
Manager of San Pedro Belize Express Water Taxi, Shadir Marin, is tonight spending his first night behind bars after he was remanded on a single charge of Aggravated Assault with a Firearm upon forty-one year old Eddison Usher. The twenty-five year old is accused of pulling his licensed firearm at the disc jockey on April eleventh, almost two months ago, at the Hour Bar compound on Princess Margaret Drive in Belize City. In a report made to the police, Usher says he was playing music for a fundraising event, when Marin allegedly rode over the wires of his music system. The two men then got into an argument and according to Usher, that’s when Marin pulled out a firearm and pointed it at him. Marin appeared in court today with his attorney, Lesley Mendez and pleaded not guilty to the charge. Magistrate Herbert Panton was unable to grant bail due to the nature of the offense and Marin was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until July twenty-eighth, 2015.
