Belmopan police find charged remains

Belmopan police are investigating the discovery of charred remains that may be those of a missing person from the Belmopan area. Around midday Sunday, police visited an area near the river bank in the Another World Area of Roaring Creek Village where some bones were located. According to Deputy Officer in Charge of Belmopan Police, Inspector David Chi, the bones have been sent for forensic testing and they cannot still determine if the bones are human.

Insp. David Chi, Deputy O.C., Belmopan Police (Via Phone)
“On Sunday at about twelve midday police received information about some bones suspected to be human remains in the Another World Area near the river bank of the Belize Old River. In respect of that information, police visited the scene where they found some bones suspected to be human remains. Those bones have been retrieved and have been labelled, packaged and sent off to the forensic lab for further testing to confirm whether or not they are human remains.”

Despite the pending lab testing, the family of one Rudolph Hyde Junior believes that the remains are of their son who has been missing for the past three weeks.
