K.H.M.H. Nurse and Sons Acquitted of Fire Arm Offenses

Judith Rocke

Tonight, fifty-two year old Judith Rocke, a nurse from the K.H.M.H. and her three sons are free from two criminal offenses of Kept Firearm and Ammunition without being Granted a Gun License. They were acquitted of the charge late on Tuesday by Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser after the case of the prosecution crumpled. At start of the trial the arresting officer, the main witness in the case against the four family members, gave a wrong serial number for the alleged gun in question which the GSU claimed they found at Rocke’s house on Castle Street, Belize City on April twenty-fifth 2012.  The trial began more than a year ago and when the family was set free on Tuesday, Rocke was relieved. When the search was conducted only Michael Herrera was at the house; his other two siblings, Gion Bernard and Shane Crawford lived somewhere else. Rocke and Bernard admitted they were occupants of the house but neither was present during the search and the evidence, consisting of a nine millimetre pistol and ammo, was not tendered so no one could be held responsible for the firearm or ammunitions.
